I was wondering if anyone has switched their bike to the air shocks that appear to be on some 82 xj's. I was wondering ride ability, height compared to stock (with a comfortable range of air. I don't really want to go lower.), and if I needed to buy a compressor or if they have a valve stem on the shocks.

I ride mine pretty hard. SO any advice on this would be great thanks.

I put a set on my X and love them.

    Much better ride but expensive.
I got them from Chacal (he had best price)
The little tubing tees together with a tire type valve stem. I put the joint right under the seat for easy access and protection.

You only need to add air when you want to stiffen the ride. Any place with an air hose is all you need. It's easy to soften them wherever you are.

One of the original shocks blew out on my 900, and since I had this Turbo bike sittin there, I "borrowed" them.
The unloaded height is about 1/2 inch taller, allowing the bike to pop right up on the centerstand. Mine will bottom out without air.
They seem to dampen OK, a bit soft, maybe.
