Yes... it sounds like some sort of miracle from the subject but... not really.
So, today I went to do the sync, colourtune and general tune up after wet setting and the normal procedure I follow is to colourtune then sync then colourtune and then sync and then... ad infinitum it seems.
    but...
Today I had a thought (haha yes really)
I sync'd and then colourtuned with the carbmate attached to the carbs I was colourtuning and while I coloutrtuned I resync'd if the sync went out.
Took me half the time it normally takes and at the last carb that I was colourtuning I could see the sync was correct too.

Generally I'm impressed with my own ingenuity obviously!

Oh... if you are against YICs blocking tools you shouldn't read this... as I use one to do all of this.

Good times on the XJ :)

That makes a lot of sense.
Curious if any other members might know if there is any downside to that. My biggest fear (every time I do it) is keeping the engine running too long w/ Colortune in place. I recall something in the manual about overheating it and possibly damaging the plug.. . . . . at times I can be rather paranoid. o_O

Felt like I ended up with the same heat afterwards.
Kinda like doing a colourtune heat. I just happened to have the carbmate attached as I went.
    Mind you...
My 750 always makes me tune it. It's like some sort of 'up yours' it gets at my expense.
I swear... every single time the sync is out ... every single bloody time!
    Aaah gotta love the 750.

Interesting idea, but wouldn't do it myself...... I would be concerned with overheating the color-tune.

Two years ago, we tried a different idea since enough people brought stuff.....

We ran colortunes on all four could at the same time. The idea was cool, it LOOKED cool, but actually didn't run well, so we pulled them and went back to the traditional one-at-a-time method..... Which I prefer.

I must admit I still have a stumble when taking off... everything over that works a charm but sooner or later I will beat these bastards! (my carbs I mean)

open your mixture screws 1/8 of a turn, Rick-o-matic called it "supplemental enrichment" and it works
