Hello all, back on the air with a new pc for Christmas.

Need some help with my tach. Thought I would repaint the gauge needles on the XJ900. When I tried taking the tach needle off, the gauge exploded into many pieces. The shaft that the needle is attached to came out.

I have been able to mostly work out how to put it back together, but there are 2 nylon bushes. One is plain and one is a top hat shape, and I'm not sure in what order these go on the needle shaft, and which way the top hat bush would face up.

The tach is electronic, recieves a signal from the TCI module. Anyone ever tried taking one apart and knows how it goes back together?

I've only got one electronic tach; it works, and I haven't ripped into it as a result.

My bikes all came with mechanical tachs; the electronic one for me is an upgrade part waiting to go in.

I'll look at the "whole" one I have and see what I can see.
