I got a tank from an 82 maxim. If I remember right it came from a 750. Pretty rough paint job but otherwise a fine tank as far as I know. I can get pics if you're interetested. I was going to get posted here in a week or so anyway.

I really don't know anything about it. It has a petcock but if it works or not I couldn't say. I got it with a set of wheels. The guy I got it from had parted the rest of the bike and just told me take it. I was ini Nw york at the yankee game this weekend. I'll post the pics tomorrow. Look at it let me know if you need some measurements and if it's what you need we'll work out a price.

I don't know. Maybe someone else here could answer that. I haven't got the key or I'd just fill it up to let you know. Looks to be a bit bigger (fatter side dimensions) than my 650 tank.

Did some checking and it's definately a 750 tank. So it's 3.4 gallons as far as I can tell. Make me an offer, include shipping from zip 20707.

750 tank is 4.3 gallons. I do believe. or is that 4.7 gallons. Anyway it is not 3.4 3.4 is for the 650

A larger tank is definately a nice thing on a long drive. I think it makes the bike look more proportioned too.

old_Grunt it does have the sender. You'd be thrid in line behind ridz and chacal.

Ridz it's still yours if you want it. Make an offer. Not looking to get rich on it.

ok people form two lines here. I have the tank that has the pictures. We've established it's from a 750. I have another tank, no petcock, no cap, big dent on the top from a 650 which will also be available in a few days maybe a week. Ridz has dibs on the 750 tank until he turns it down. The line may now form for the second. As a heads up I'll also have a set of wheels off an 81 650 as well. Those will be a couple weeks away before they're available. Still getting the new ones painted, mounted, etc.

Not looking to get rich off any of these parts. I'll make reasonable deals with anyone. They're only on this site as of now. No response or takers here they'll go to fleabay I guess.

I definetly want the tank ..I just have to figure out if it will work on my bike...I would rather you tell me your price Then I could just send you the money...and if it dont work for me then ill sell it to the person behind me in line...I can drive it down to ol grunt..or meet him half way...I just need a price you have to ship it to me so if you could work that out as cheap as possible..youd have my greatest thanx...Ridz

I set my 750 tank on my 700 the other day and it will work, but with some modofication. Tank mounts need to move and under the tank will need some widening, as the tank is narrower under it. May need to relocate the rear mounting point as well. Anything is possible though. I may end up adjusting a 750 tank for mine as well. Have a good one and happy welding.

anyone ever hear of anyone building a balancing line so that you dont run out of gas when you still have gas in the rt side of your tank?

The other AM I was riding home from a 12 hr nite shift and ran out of gas about 1/2 way home.
Of course it really still had pleanty of gas but it was all trapped on the rt side of my tank. So I had to tip my bike to the lft to get the gas over to the lft side.

I was thinking of building a balancing tube system to equalize the 2 1/2s of my tank.

My first bike was a Honda 90. It had two barb fittings on either inside bottom edge of the tank and a tube was connected between them. Very simple idea.
