hey guys... is there a place on the engine someware... that i can tep into and run a supply pressure to my oil cooler and a return pressure into the engine ..... with out useing the filter adapter... i have a xs1100 cooler that is unusable unless i get a 650 adapter plate for filter... but the lines designed for that adapter plate are bolt on and this cooler is clamp on lines, with 3/8 fittings... i figured i could just get suplly pressure from someware else on the engine and tap it into the cooler line from some ware else

If both were tapped from high pressure sources, you would have no to little flow. If you had one high pressure, and just dumped the oil back in the motor, you would need to restrict the flow, or you would have no oil pressure.

Can you cut the 'clamp on' XS fittings off the rubber lines to the cooler and slide the lines onto a 650 filter adapter's metal tubes then use hose clamps?

Would the lines be long enough?

I wouldn't rob Peter to pay Paul in this situation and end up with a seized motor.

Go with the filter adapter from a 650 and XJ cooler setup and think about using the XS cooler on a XS instead, less hassles.

I've see a few Yammies with LockHart Cooler's.
    Hose Clamp city.

Since you have an OEM Cooler Base ... it wouldn't be such a bad idea to Mock-Up what you need and take the works into a Shop that repairs Snow Plow hydraulic lines ... or a Brake Shop where they could put an Oil Tight Flair Nut on the Tubing and put a BUBBLE-FLAIR on the Tube to let you have Oil Lines fitted without Hose Clamps.
