TCI and rectifier question.

    Do the TCI and rectifier on our maxims need to be air cooled? Mounted on the outside of the bike? Or can they go inside a battery box? I ask because one has fins

    Lower 48 in general. Otherwise Central Mitten.
    You will want to keep them out where they can get airflow to them.

    More so, the regulator than the TCI.

    Ii saw a Bobber that had the Fuse Panel, Voltage Regulator and Igniter mounted within the Air Box.

    The owner insisted it was safe that way.
    He said that there was always cool-air being circulated when the Bike was running.

    He also had "Removable" hatches cut-out and sheet metal "Doors" installed to make reinstalling the Airbox Boots easier after doing Carb work.
    The Doors were applied with Velcro material.
    The edges were sealed with Caulk and covered-over with Black Nail Polish.
