I am getting ready to replace the starter on my bike with the starter that came on a parts bike I bought.

I don't want to waste time replacing a bad starter with a bad starter.

I know there is a way for me to pull the starter off the parts bike and test to see if it works on the bench outside of the bike before I install it, right?

Can I do it with a car battery and jumper cables? Or some other way?

If I can't pull it off the bike and test it, how do I test it while it is on the bike?

    Thanks!

car battery and jumper cables will do the trick.

it has to spin fast and hard. if it's slow to spin fast, rebuild it.

On the bike, put the + lead to the connector & the _ to ground (the body of the s/motor)

put it in neutral unless you have long jumper cables
