    Don't blame the USPS.
    Blame the Shipper.

That should have been secured to something that wouldn't allow it to be bent.

    And, ...

Sent in a BOX that would have prevented it from being sorted with envelopes.

That sucks BIG TIME. Don't know if it'll do any good, but I'd send them that picture and tell them exactly what you think of their service and request the cost of a replacement. You never know, the guy/gal/person (PC) that handles the complaints might be a two wheeler and actually do something about it.
    Just sayin'.

I disagree. len atleast did SOMETHING to try and prevent this.

Fact is, USPS did it. So that pretty much leaves them at fault.

I think it was a flat rate box until it was flattened. My first impulse was that USPS must have flattened it. On a second look it appears the shipper may not have assembled the box and taped the ends to make an envelope of it.

Either way it wasn't properly packaged. I'd be all over the shipper for a replacement.

    Oh, ... well ....
You didn't say it was Len.
I'm sure the Post Office is to blame, now.

Not to start a Flame Festival ...
    But, ...

I have used Head Gaskets that looked a lot worse than that.

No, it wasn't Lens fault. It was packaged and labeled appropriately. It totally was the post office that did not take care of a package marked fragile.

None the less, Len has been great about the whole thing, and he is very prompt in getting me back on the road. Thank you Len!

Whether or not the gasket is salvageable I do not know, but I have had this engine apart enough to not want to have to pull it again. I mean the thing only has 14000 original miles on it. SO once it's done it should be a while.
