the factory tire size is 130/90 for 82 xj750

    well I am getting tires for my 82 xj750 and would like to put a wider tire on the rear. What is the widest tire that I can put on the back and clear my drive shaft.

    130 fits fine though one guy usually can't do it alone with just the center stand. 140 often rubs just a tiny bit.
    Bare in mind that different tires of the same spec'd bead width may have different actual major widths when measured at their widest point.

    What is the widest tire that I can put on the back and clear my drive shaft. IS A XJ 650 SECA, AND HAS A RANGE FROM 18"
