    So most people here know about having a bike in grast running conditions. To achieve that at some point you have to attend the "church of clean".

    What are the most sinfull and filty carbs you have ever seen? I am getting ready to clean my second set of carbs and break a rack for the first time (full exorcism on these puppies).

    This rack came off the 650 seca that I bought for parts. It had pods so I figured PO caredabout th bike and fiddled with it. Well, who knows but the carbs are nasty and jets are stripped. I was not able to get one off, i'm still working on it.

    This rack was so bad that bot even kroil would loosen up the float needle seats, I had to bring an impact drive to get the suckers loose.

    On the bright side evetything else is coming apart nicely with my handy can of Kroil and a new set of JIS screwdrivers.

    Those are nasty but I have seen worse.
    With jets messed up like that its a good idea to replace them.

    I pushed the slid up in this guy to see how they moved and it stayed up. The jets weren't buggered up though.

    One of the racks I worked on, I had to soak before I could get the pistons out...

    I serviced a rack that sat for 15-years.
    The Fuel Bowls looked-like the Road-gang from "Cool Hand Luke" tarred them twice.
    The Diaphragm Piston Needles were stuck inside the Nozzles.
    I had to Boil the Rack to get the Pistons out.
    But the Carbs are light-alloy, brass and bronze.
    They clean-up good no matter how filthy.

    Here's a look at what I found when I pulled the Main Jets:
