Does anyone have a back rest on a 1982 yamaha XJ650 maxim that attaches to the luggage rack? It inserts into the outer bars of the luggage rack.

I'm looking for pics of front and back of the back rest and if anyone can give its demesions so I can build one. If you know of anyone that has one for sale or even one that will mount somewhere on my bike please e-mail me chevyman@mchsi.com

    Thanks,
    Jason

Look in my gallery and you can see a luggage rack with backrest that I made. You can also see this year's incarnation where I took off the backrest and mounted a trunk on the rack.

    Hey Jason,
I have pictures of that rack (taken of mine). I'll try to post them tonight. That is a genuine Yamaha rack. I saw one come up for sale last year on flea-bay. If you can wait, they are very nice and fit perfectly.

I tried to email the photos to you but Microsoft (go figure) Outlook kicked my email back. Do you have an alternative email? I won't be able to get back to this topic for at least a week after tonight. I'll not be able to get measurements for at least a week (traveling out of town) so if you can wait, I'll get you those dimensions.
