Not sure if this is the right place to start this post, but I wanted to say what an awesome resource this is and post a few pics to show the result of reading XJBikes.com

A friend of mine knew I rode and told me about a "piece of junk" motorcycle he inherited from a in-law that he wanted badly to get out of the garage. I currently ride a 01 Roadstar and was unaware of the XJ craze and all of the amazing resources, transformations and capabilities. After researching a bit on this site and a few others, I was hooked and knew I had to take a stab at finally creating my first bobber.

I'm not nearly as comfortable in a garage as a good friend of mine is, so we teamed up and started to dream a dream.

Here is a before and after pic. The style is similar to others who have walked down this path before on this site, but we have gone down to nothing but the frame, so we will surely run into any and all issues getting everything up and running.

I'd love to hear any thoughts, feedback or concerns.

Thanks again for an awesome site and forum!

Looks like you have the right idea!
Nothing like an extra bike to tinker on when you have another to ride. Take your time and do the research is all it takes. Welcome aboard! You have come to the right place for sure.

Thanks everyone! The engine is next and it is a disaster, so i'm sure you'll hear a lot from me.

Let me know if anyone is doing a similar project and wants more detailed pics or lessons learned.
