Hi, I have a 1983 XJ750 SECA that is in good running order, has a clean title, approx 12000 actual miles. New tire up front and in the back. New paintjob on the plastics.

The right fork tube leaves an oil film on the chrome tube and the speedo needle is not acurate for speed but the odo, and trip meter are acurate.

What could I expect to get out of this bike approx?

What's it look like now ? I'd say somewhere between 1200-2000.

A neighbor just picked up a mint XJ750 Maxim with 14k on it for $800cash and a $400 Lifan 150(why he had it I'll never know...) but that's a Maxim.

Off season wont get a good price for it. But then again, money's getting tight too!

It is the yellow bike that is in my gallery, except it is no longer yellow. I have not got all of the plastics back on yet. I put on a different gas tank and front fairing.

Just curious, not sure I want to sell it or not.

    Nice looking paint job.
I paid $950 for my 82 650 Maxim. It had 17,000 miles when I bought it. Spent $300 to get it in daily riding condition.

Some people look at XJs as old junkers.
An XJ enthusiast will value your bike more.

I would not expect to get more than $1500.

I sold my 83 XJ650 with 38K miles in August for 1300. Mechanically perfect, cosmetically good, saddle bags, extra lighting. Took me 3 months to sell it.

And I sold my 80 XJ650 2 months ago with 22k on it for $1,350 while trying to sell the Turbo. Then sold My 82 XJ650 Turbo with 19.5k on it last month after 3 months of trying for $1,600.

Point on selling both bikes was that the money was there. One had his GF with an Ins settlement, the other had an Ins settlement as well.

The leaking tube should be fork seals and should be fixed before riding it The leaking seals are a maintenance thing and not fixed shouldnt take much value from the bike. I looked at your gallery pics and providing there is no road rash and its never been recked you should get $1400 for it(after fixing fork seals). If you dont need the money stay firm on the kprice, otherwise I wouldnt go below $1200 unless you had a good reason to do so.

My 2 cents... good luck on the sale if you decide to go that route.

MiCarl, I been trying to figure out what size of saddle bags fit on my 83 xj650 Maxim. I would need to know the length so I can start looking for one.
