I never had a website keep my interest for so many hours. between getting help, learning from interesting threads, and now a new passion for helping other members, I'm pretty sure there won't be another website calling me as much as XJbikes.

Simply the best website I've ever been on, I'm totally addicted.

    Thanks to everyone and enjoy

I'm in the exact same position. I'm budding motorcyclist, not knowing much about anything as of two months ago. After spending dozens of hours researching here, I'm getting my now-beautifully running bike insured today!

Congrat shnuffy! I've got mine running, thanks to this website, but still have some more repairs before I can get it inspected. And I agree yamaman this site is totally addicting, I've been totally sucked into this site since joining.

No other make, that I could find, has such an comprehensive forum. All the info you need and then some in one place. One of the deciding factors buying an XJ for sure!

I was also extremely surprised that a series of bikes I had previously and naively assumed to be rather obscure had such a large following. I definitely think it contributes to the value of these bikes because finding information and parts is most of the battle with older vehicles.

Usually I get on kicks once in awhile and will be extremely interested in something only to have it fade away at a later date. However, I have a feeling this one might last awhile :D

Interesting point about this site increasing the value of our bikes.

One of main concerns before starting my project was both the availability of parts (major concern!) and the information required for the specific bike. This site has both of those things.

Chacal sells the screws that hold the brackets that hold the floats in place. Honestly?! Are you kidding me? From full gas tanks to tiny screws, I can get any single part I need from a reliable, knowledgeable and friendly guy in the lovely state of Georgia.

I guess I couldn't have lucked out more getting the bike that I got (my dad purchased it in 1997, and sold it to me in 2003 for $250).

I totally agree. My bike wouldn't be running without the great help from this site and Chacal has about the best customer service I've ever encountered. He even offered to give me a full refund on a part that I butchered. How great is that!

I second what everyone said. This site helped me get across the country and taught me so much, not just about my bike, but also practical mechanical knowledge.

Your Cross-country adventure was a Top-10 Thread for the wholle time you were out on-the-road!
Some of us had a better time acting like "Mission Control" than you did, ... chalking-up highway miles.

I had a Dealership in Colorado willing to stay open and do a NASCAR-Type Pit Stop to keep you moving if you needed them to help you out.

Las Vegas Odds-Makers were making book on you not getting that Bike out-of-State. Barstow was 12-to-1.

But, you were like the Jockey that rode the long-shot to Win the Derby.
    That was fun!

It's the greatest website on earth because...

It's got the greatest people...willing to help and advise and supply obscure parts when needed. Even way down here in Australia. Even after I saw the Colbert Report the other night making fun of us Aussies!

May the website continue for a long time to come into the reaches of cyberspace. But please, don't disappear and return some time later in a large Alien cloud like V'ger in the first star trek movie - that was so disappointing.
