I've been wanting to test ride an EV-bike for quite some time now. Think it would be the perfect commuting bike with that instant torque and low cost maintenance.

What's preventing me is the initial cost, even though they have existed for some time now they are still way too expensive to be a valid proposition (for me). My hope is the cost will drop as the concept gets more proven and technology get less expensive.

Love to hear your thoughts about Electric Motorcycles!

    Cheers, Hampus

I too have been keeping up with some of the E bikes. I know that one big turn off was the sound or lack of sound the bikes make. I think HD even added a sound maker so the rider would be able to hear the bike. Not that I have every heard a HD rider say "pipes save lives". I don't want to start a rant so please don't.

High hopes that some day it will happen. I know that the Pikes Peak annual car race was won by a E car and it set a new record. The ability of the E motors to maintain output in different altitudes and conditions is whey the E cars do so well at that race. The tech is there but it needs to get much better, smaller and cost effective.

My town (population 10K) has a charging station now so long trips could be done. Not as fast as gas and go, but they are trying.

If you have even seen the movie "the incredibles 2" the main protagonist has a E bike that would be cool, it will happen. Not too sure I will still be alive but it will happen.

I've test ridden a few and would love to get one, but am too frugal to take the plunge. In MN, I gotta take into account that I'm not riding it year 'round.

My employer has free charging stations for EVs and I like the idea that, while sitting in traffic, the motor is cooling off, not heating up. When the prices come down or they start showing on the secondary market, I'll take a serious look.

the replacment cost of the battery must be $$$

if you were to run out of "fuel" I do not think your buddy can bring you a little charge to get you to a charging station.

planning long distance rides on gas/charging station locations would be the challange . there are quite a few charging stations going in at stations parking garages and hotels.
Just not something I would be intrested in I like the hands on aspect of checking valve shims rebuilding/cleaning carbs ect .

I would love to have one of those electric trials bikes.
I’m in the city and could set up a course in the back yard without bothering the neighbours. There’s probably noise from the chain though.
