Think to myself, "Great! Time to look for a new cable." Get home and pull into the garage so that I can start to asses the damage. I started looking over the cable to see if there was any damage to it, (Hole = water entering = rust = speedo cable problems... You know the usual. I looks good on the lower end. I start to go up the cable and find the nut about half way down the cable. Look further up and see that the cable just came loose and fell out of the speedo. So that was an easy fix. Should have kept it simple and checked the connections first.

As a side note: Being a computer tech I ask people all the time, "Is it plugged in?" I should have known better then to skip the basics.

I ask myself this question all the time :p
That is way better news than chewing up a speedo gear, or snapping a cable.
Glad to hear all worked out for ya.
