First off I don't have a good story. But... I was riding to work yesterday. There's two freeway that i take. It's only about a 8 mile ride to work for me. When I got on the second freeway I started hearing thunder and then the lighten followed. It looked to be about 3 or 4 mls away (at that point I was about 2 miles from work). Kinda caught me by surprise. I'm sure someone has to have a better story then that so id like to hear it. :D

I rode into a thunderstorm with 50MPH straightline winds once. It was an informed decision as I was 3 minutes from shelter. I would have gotten off of the bike and sheltered in place otherwise; there was a tornado watch in effect.

Riding home from Birmingham to Tampa a few years back I ran into the back edge of a storm which was heading south ahead of me. I skirted a few different roads trying to find the east edge of it until I finally just dove in a rode through it. Maybe twenty miles of solid rain until I got to the other side.

Rode through a pretty heavy storm last year, I could barely see 100ft in front of me, on the highway, obviously I reduced speed, and I knew there was a gas station about 2km ahead that I could hide under until it passed. Just then, there was a deafening combo of crack and roar, highlighted by a blinding flash. Lightning struck an underground wire about 20ft from me. Took about 2 hours before my hearing returned.

    Shoulda bought a lottery ticket.

I rode through a nasty cold front storm here in Ontario once and was soaked to the bones. Once it passed I just stepped up the speed and with my naked bike (no wind jammers) I dried up in about 20 minutes!

The first year that MotoGP came to Indy I bought my tickets ahead of time, git the bike loaded and went, only problem was about 15 minutes on the road it started raining. So I pulled in under an overpass and put on my rain suit, then continued riding for about 10 hours (including getting lost) in the rain. It was quite an experience, though only my feet, hands and a bit around the collar got wet.
    Here's my route:
