Me and my roommate are working on my 1982 XJ750 Maxim, he is very good with cars, but is completely new to the motorcycle scene so we are both learning.

This is not a "normal" oil leak. I am guessing that its leaking from the crank into the bottom intake (lower part of the intake box)

We took the fuel tank off, we opened up the top of the intake box, pulled the filter out, there was a pool of oil at the bottom of the filter box. The carburetor was clean of oil (clean in general) Carb is still attached to the engine, we only pulled the air filter out. Also, the bottom of the Air Filter is saturated with oil.

So basically the oil is coming from the crank into the intake box, then its leaking from the intake box because its filling the box with oil ( I THINK )

Its not from the carb from what Ive heard that happens.

Ive looked on the battery cover, and it said that it needs 91 octane, Ive been giving it unleaded cheap shit gas this whole time. Also, my exhaust pipe has fallen off after the header, when it fell off, all this oil (I think it was oil) was pouring out.

I need some help on this, I got my bike in pieces in my garage right now so any input would greatly help me, thank you all, you've been great to me in the past.

It sounds as though you simply overfilled the crankcase and it's pumping through the breather. Or you have a carb/petcock issue and it's leaking gas into the motor and overfilling the crankcase with gas. Simple foolproof oil-level check: Bike on sidestand, nothing should be showing in sight glass. Stand bike up toward vertical oil level in sight glass will begin to rise. Put on centerstand (or hold vertical) oil should be JUST ABOVE the upper mark with a "bubble" still showing at the top. If the bike suddenly appears to have "gained" a bunch of oil, you probably have a sticking/stuck float and/or a petcock that isn't shutting off fully and it's adding gas to the oil making it appear as if there's more. Check for strong gasoline smell in oil.
