I've got an '82 seca 650 with a 4 to 1 exhaust and air pods. I went up to 116 mains and 41 pilots. my plugs are fouling though (thick black carbon) and i'm thinking I should drop down to 114s and put my oem 40s back in? Does this sound about right?

I've considered tweeking with the pilot mixture screws but don't know to turn it up or down to lean it out.

Also while i was synching I watched the fourth manometer column bounce when the bike backfired. On closer inspection it seems that the rubber tip on that float needle is slightly torn. Could that be the cause?

    what is your elevation?
the float needle is important to have in working order.
keeps you engine from getting flooded.

    are your carbs spotlessly clean?
try tweaking the mixture screws IN a couple of degrees
    then recheck plugs.

*EDIT be careful the mixture screws are brass and fragile :!:
