So the carbs are back on the bike, float levels are pretty good.

Starts up really easy now -- one second or less on the starter button. Needs enrichment to start, which is good. After warming for 2-3 minutes I can take the enrichment off. Once it's totally warm, using a bit of enrichment stalls it. Does that sound about right to you, or should it not be stalling if I use the enrichment lever once it's warm?

Anyway, let it idle for a while and pulled the plugs. #1 was pretty black, #2 was lookin' good, #3 was black and wet (hope it's not oil, didn't see this before at all), #4 is a little black.

Started adjusting the idle screws. All were set to 3 turns out to begin. Turn #1, #2 and #4 in a bit. #2 always looks about the same, and after adjusting #1 and #4 they're still black but are getting whitish spots on the electrodes. I guess my question is: will the plugs "self clean" if it's burning right? Or do I have to burn the carbon off with a propane torch as suggested in another thread?

Sparkplugs self clean when the internal engine temperature at the sparkplug is at around 400 degrees C. Take it for a good ride!

I used the torch burn off after a bad batch of gasoline and it did work.

The bike will stall when hot if choke is used as it will make it far too rich, sounds like you had it pretty close.

Take the bike for a ride with mixtures set at just back from 3 turns and see what it looks like. It is hard to fine tune without a colortune or CO meter and the sparkplugs don't really get a chance to clean just starting and idling.
