Soooo I thought I was about done with this monster, but no such luck.

Took the Turbo for a spin this morning to find out that it no longer made boost and whined really loud. Took the intake elbow off to find a bent turbo shaft and a partially eaten impeller. @#$%!

Does anyone know a good place to get the turbo rebuilt?

Try Magestic turbo in Texas. They rebuilt mine for $300 or $350. Did a great job too. Hope you get it running again, they really are great bikes but just have to be ridden weekly. Check your top end also, Wonder what caused your turbo to eat itself????

Good luck finding a replacement compressor wheel (impeller). Mine had a bent fin and I have been searching to no avail for one. The tc04 wheel is an upgrade so I have heard but I havent been able to find one of those wheels separately either.

Well, I have a spare impeller, I'm just not sure about the turbo shaft. I'd rather have someone who knows what they're doing replace the shaft & bearing... Maybe they can use my impeller. The hot side is fine...

Dino, what all did the shop do to your turbocharger? What all got replaced for $300?

The turbo IS a Mitsubishi TC03 turbo.

They just replaced the seals and stuff, When I first had it, it was leaking oil like crazy while running. When it came back, no more oil leak. They most likely dismantled the turbo and put it all back together. Essentially just a basic rebuild. It was running perfectly up until last Monday but it wasnt the turbo's fault.. The rebuilt turbo has well over 60,000 miles on it since it was rebuilt.

    Dino, you the man!

We sent all the compressor parts we had to Majestic about 10 days ago. It came back today... All I gotta say is wow. They did an amazing job. The unit looks brand new, there is no play in the bearings, and it even looks like they blasted the housing and repainted it. Color me impressed.

I'm installing the compressor back on the bike hopefully tonight after work... Got my fingers crossed!

I think it was right at $330. We sent them two toasted compressors and a good wheel, and they sent back this and a bag of leftovers :)

Wheeee! The compressor is back on, and the bike is running great. Now just to fix the howling speedo, and this beast is done!

I'm having a beer to celebrate

    Beautiful!!!

The only Turbo I ever owned was a Renault Fuego, around an 82. Man did the thing scream. Gotta be fun on a bike.

    73!
