turn signal problems

    I have a 1982 xj550j maxim, when the bike was purchased it did not have any turn signals. I purchased four led style signals, the problem I am having is I think I am missing the flasher relay. Whan I was tracing the wirers I noticed a female plug-in that was missing the male portion of the piece. There are three places in the female side for a part to plug into, I assume this is where the flasher relay used to be. If anyone could give me some insight on my theory it would be highly appreciated. Also some information as to where to purchase a relay, and about how much do they cost. Thanks.
