I'm looking to get rid of the stock bar controls and I can't find any good options for some hidden/minimal controls for the turn signals (3 way switch) and horn switch. Anybody found any good switches or ideas to make my own?

    Thanks

I am interested as well, all I need is a kill/start and a high/low beam and horn button though. All I have found are some mini switches made by Posh. They are kinda pricey though at $70.00 a piece.

Just bought these on ebay: momentary switch to be used for the horn and start. I think im going to try and collect everything I need one piece at a time and mock it up on a set of old handlebars. Once i got it the way i like it ill install it on my daytona bars.

One thought I have been having is, there is a hole where the mirror used to be on my clutch perch....im going to hollow out and tap a bolt that will fit it and see if I can get a small enough switch to fit inside of it. If it works, ill post up some pictures.

i was at sportwheels cycle salvage the other day pouring over bins and bins of controls for every make and model bike in existence (may be true, its insane there) and although i didnt have a lot of time i didnt see anything all that minimal in design. some with smaller footprints, easier to use switches etc but none real simple. some dirtbike ones im kinda looking into now. but like you, i may just figure out a way to rig my own up. i already have my start on a momentary by the battery because of solenoid/brush/whatever issues.

curious to see what you finish with though

This probably sounds incredibly stupid, but my turn signal/horn/lights cluster has the choke on it as well. It's a stock 83 Midnight Maxim cluster (ebay link). How can I buy a cluster without a choke? Where do I put my choke?

    Ended up going with this..............http://www.jpcycles.com/product/ZZ37015

Awesome for 7/8 bars, very clean look and easy wiring setup.

iwearhats i'm running into the same problem. I removed the switch clusters from both sides of the handle bars (turn signals, horn, high beam low beam, choke, kill switch, start switch, throttle assembly) I have the above switch wired in on the handle bars, starter switch wired in on the frame(toggle switch), high/low beam switch wired in on the frame (toggle switch) but I'm having trouble figuring out what to do about the choke/throttle cable options. I'm probably going to put the kill switch assembly back on to run the throttle until I can find something else that works.

A couple of standalone choke cable 'perch' options (just Google "motorcycle choke lever")

For the throttle side, what you're looking for is a SINGLE PULL universal-fit throttle for 7/8" bars (this is just one style)

I see, maybe I'll get one of those minimalist scooter controls and a standalone choke.

My problem is I have short, straight bars which causes my left cluster to nail my tank when I crank a hard left. It reduces my left turning ability. Not good.

I have zero mechanical knowledge but I'm an Electrician, so, for f***s sake, I better be able to figure this out.
