    She's Alive!!! Mufflers and seat are off and carbs are leaking but she does run!

    Here's the deal. I'm moving soon and will be going from 3 car garage to 2 car garage. I have not ridden my Maxim in over two years. :( I'm trying to get feelers or serious offers on my bikes before I move.

    Here's some details - I don't have current pictures or a complete list (yet)

    Please read all the details before making a fair offer - Please don't insult me or my mods; don't complain that I'm trying to sell non-running bikes.

    "Parts" Bike - Red - Purchased to be a spare parts bike but it was complete when purchase. I was not running and I've never had it running (DEAD battery and clogged carbs bare mininum issues), but it did TRY to start when I first purchased it.
    * Currently the entire exhaust is removed as one piece. The exhaust holes on the engine are stuffed with paper towels and aluminum foil to keep the critters out.
    * The carbs were removed and 100% taken apart to clean and rebuild for my other Maxim.
    * Long dead battery
    * The front end has a Quicksilver Vetter fairing installed (as purchased) and is missing the square headlights. (I think I have enough spares to restore the front end lights).
    * Tires are way beyond usable
    * Probably not ran in over 4 years
    * I have a Minnesota title for it
    * Both side covers - I think they are fully intact

    "Vetterized LED" Bike - Black
    This was my project bike. I was running (just a little rough) until I took it apart to replace valve shims and fix exhaust joint leaks (gaskets) and eventually cleaned carbs. We moved shortly after I started to take it apart. I never got back to it and I purchased two more bikes after that move.
    * Has not ran in over 2 years.
    * Tires less than a season old when parked - Parked on rug remnants in garage
    * All changes I made were done so they could be reversed (except for wire splicing). All stock parts such as the mirrors and turn signals were saved.
    * Progressive rear springs - Less than a season of riding on them
    * Mufflers removed - I believe I purchased the gaskets for the connection to exhaust pipes - Was leaking at joint no other real problems
    * Original tank DENTED when it fell off the seat while I was working on something. Motherf*cker! Spare tank was acquired and painted. I never got around to sealing the inside, so there may be some rust.
    * 99.9% LED conversion - only odometer bulb was not changed - Blue high beam bulb burnt out - This includes ($100) DOT approved rear amber turn signals and ($300) DOT 7" round headlight installed in Vetter Windjammer fairing. (Electric turn signal flasher - Blinks correctly without auto cancel).
    * Stock front lights and fork reflectors removed
    * Vetter Windjammer VI/SS style fairing installed. It's big but it and the matching luggage are ERA correct. Installed with the correct mounting bracket and the extra christmas tree shaped support plate.
    * Vetter rear trunk installed - 6" oval semi truck LED running/stop lights installed - Wired with modified Vetter quick connect plug (upgraded from 4 wire plug to same 9 wire plug used on fairings) - You can remove it, but its not a "quick" removal style trunk
    * Vetter side luggage bags - Yellow LED turn signal strips added to the top of the bags - 4" Polk Marine speakers added to bags (they work but the quality/volume was not as desired - they may need some porting or backing added) - THESE DO QUICK DISCONNECT - They were originally designed to be removable to take with you (ie into a hotel room) using the handles - They are wired for quick electrical/speaker disconnect
    NOTE: I will be keeping/removing the Denali D2 LED lights I installed on the forks unless I get a REALLY good offer to cover the fair price of the bikes and the $300 lights.
    * Lithium Iron Battery - I also have non-required special charger I may include - Battery tenders work just fine - Note bike came with "backwards" battery and wires long enough to reach - What I mean the Positive are negative posts are one the opposite sides vs a stock battery - No the battery was not installed backwards

    * Illinois Title in my name

    PARTS and Tools - This will be a partial list from memory until I gather up everything in one place and edit the list.
    * YCIS eliminator rod
    * Valve spacer tool (bolt on style)
    * One OEM tool bag - bag a bit torn - I may have 2 set but I'd have to verify that
    * Yamaha Service manual - Was new - No greasy prints
    * Haynes Manual
    * Two owners manual - 1 was like new
    * 2? Extra seats - 1 recovered - 1 ripped
    * 2? Extra atari for the 82 XJ750J
    * 1 Extra Dented tank
    * 1 Extra 83 XJ750 Tank - No fuel sensor hole
    * 2 Square headlight set - I should have all the parts to restore both bikes to stock
    * 1 good condition chrome 7" round headlight from some XJ model - H4 non-sealed headlight/reflector to put in it
    * Every seal and o-ring to rebuild the front forks' air assist system - New from Chacal
    * New front progressive springs and all seals for forks.
    * New wheel bearing - I think all the bearings needed for both tires
    * New Black covered SS brake lines and crush washers- New from Chacal
    * One good condition master cylinder to replace non-stock MC that came with LED bike - I think I also bought a rebuild kit from chacal w/o a new window - New brake switch for MC.
    * New front and rear brake pads
    * New front caliper rebuild kit - I believe I also have a spare caliper set (two rotors on the 82 XJ750J)
    * A complete rebuild kit for carbs - I didn't buy new jets unless they were already in a sub kit Chacal sells (I have the receipt somewhere)
    * SS allen head screws for the carbs and all engine side covers
    * Extra front fender (I was going to paint it)
    * Extra front end from an 82 Seca 750 w/o tire
    * Misc spare parts
    * Misc spare parts from an 82 Seca 750
    * Other stuff I've probably forgotten about

    I want/need to sell these bikes as a package deal. Once I get everything collected, you get it all. Two bikes, boxes of new/old parts, spare tanks/seats/etc. I need it all gone at the same time. I don't want to scrap the bikes and I don't want to pay to move bikes I may never get back to (even though I will miss my LED bike).

    The bikes are located in Bourbonnais, IL 60914 about 2 miles off of I-57 (South of I-80) exit 315 I think.

    I'm not exactly sure what a fair price is, but I have a low ball number in my head. Keep in mind there is over $600 in LEDs, a $200 battery, hundreds of dollars in new parts from Chacal, an entire parts bike, extra seats, extra tanks, extra ataris, and both bikes have their side covers and TITLES.

    Post here with offers or suggested prices and/or PM. I should get emails about PMs and comments so I'll be around.

    P.S. If there are any other VETTER lovers/collectors I have several fairings as well as a full luggage set and more spare parts I'm trying to get rid of (cheap) as well.

    P.S.S. Here's some older pics of the bikes - click for larger
    Red parts bike - Note trunk is gone and adjustable back rest is on the LED bike
    [IMG] [IMG]

    LED bike - The white pin stripping is 3M reflective tape and it have the fairing "lowers"

    I've started tearing apart the basement and all the boxes with parts. Next will be the garage. I bought WAY to many spare parts and I haven't even grabbed the NEW parts yet.

    At this time I am not parting anything out including specialty tools.

    I don't want to get rid of the bikes, but I also don't want to store them forever and never actually work on them. :(

    P.S.
    Although I called the LED bike my "project bike" and bought alot of new parts, the bike was perfectly functional when parked. I never planned on buying other bikes and wanted to refresh as many wear-able parts as possible (ie bearings, hoses, o-rings, etc). All the spare parts were just that spare parts for a 30 year old bike that shares very few parts with other similar XJ/yamaha models.

    Here some parts pictures from my basement. Not shown yet are the new from chacal parts; misc 750 Midnight Maxim parts; anything else I have in the garage.
    Click for larger images and to see entire gallery.

    Mostly SECA 750 parts here except the 750 Maxim seats.

    Some pictures when I picked up the 750 Midnight parts - FYI: The battery side cover is badly damaged - the aluminum and plastic

    Now that's she's alive again maybe someone is interested.

    Also does anyone have any price suggestions for this BUNDLE? Either for this site or Craigslist... A running project bike, spare parts bike and LOTS of spare new and used parts should be worth a fair price. RIGHT?

    Still available - I hate to get rid of them and I'd really hate to bring them to the scrapper/junk yard.

    Anyone interested that can take both bikes and a LOT of spare parts and Vetter Windjammer stuff?

    I have less space in Chattanooga TN and it will cost me around $300 in uhual and gas to drag them down there, just so they can collect more dust :(

    Now if you are in that area, let me know and MAYBE we'll figure out a price.

    I live a little over 100 miles away, and have a nice big trailer ;) I don't have lots of spare cash, but maybe we can work something out?
    I've got an XJ650G, and the old man loves my bike, so we're pretty interested.
