    Hi, guys!

I'm aware that you might think it is gonna hit the gas tank, when you turn the steering.
Also, not going to have "bar-end" mirrors, even have them upside down.

With that concern and question out of the way,

I'd like to get a bar-mounted mirror mounts, and install them upside-down, to accomplish the plan.

Now, before i go and do that, i'd like some advise from you guys who have similar mindset and experience on this kind of mirrors modification.

    Cheers!

I tried it and personally I don't see the point of under bar mirrors. You can't see in them with you hands on the bars. It's a personal preference but I don't like the idea of taking my hands off the bars to use the mirror. Mirrors should be things you can glance at quickly and get info fast when you need it. Often this is at a time when you'll be changing lanes or doing something that is best done with both hands on the bars.

    Thanks, Ribo.

I agree with your input, and also think that the mirrors could be mounted there but further forward.

The reason why i want it that way is, because i hate having a bike with mirrors that look like grasshopper antennas.

Anyhow, it is not the same bike ,but the idea is kind of like this Police Motorcycle in the picture...

i had them on a 450 Honda project back in the 80's and they worked great. The thing to watch for is the farther a mirror is from you the smaller your field of vision. Then look at the room you have on the bars to put a mount, with a mirror you can move the mount over past the first bend but choose the mirror bend accordingly.

The BMW police motorcycle has the mirrors integrated into the frame mounted fairing. They are not mounted to the bars and are in fact set out wider than the bars.
If you really want mirrors mounted under the bars you will need to get bars that have more rise so the mirrors do not hit the tank.

You could also do something like this and you might have enough clearance to not hit the tank.

I have bar end mirrors and they work perfectly, in fact better than the originals, as i would have to drop my shoulder to see behind, the bar end mirrors are fantastic as I can see straight past my hands without moving them, see the attached pic. Good luck.

Those look nice - kinda like the way they don't hang below the bars - not really "under-bar" I guess but that's what makes it possible to see in them without moving your hands.

On another note - completely off topic - can you tell me how you did your seat? I'm struggling to get something to work with the hump on the frame.

I run mine underbar but I also have mini-apes. Took a bit to get them angled right but now that they are adjusted, they work great.

Nothing - I think they're tip-top but esthetics are a personal thing. Some people like the look of the mirrors hanging under the bars - these people are wrong. :)

I made up the seat pan from 3mm aluminium with a pocket folder in the front and bent it to follow the frame, I bought a leather hide on ebay and got a local motor trimmer to do the upholstery.
