Ok, I installed a UNI air filter. I didn't see anywhere in the instructions where it said how much oil to use. I used 3/4 oz. and it is too much. I am getting minor dripping of the air filter oil from the airbox.

How much is everyone using for these air filters?

    Thanks....

You don't use motor oil . you buy the same oils and cleaner for a K&N filter The oil and cleaner is a spray .

if you used motor oil wait and clean it with the right stuff.

autozone has the oil and cleaner for 12 dollarsus if used right the filter will last a very long time .

You CAN uuuuusse motor oil. Just not a lot. And only temporarily. Its ok if you wanna make test runs between paychecks :) But it will ultimatly in the end reduce the life of your air filter. I just put a little from corner to corner front and back on mine and squeezed it in. Then installed it and promptly washed my hands

I used K&N air filter oil. So, I got the right oil. Just not sure how much should be used.

Are you guys using 1/2 oz. or just guessing?

I did wring it but not too hard. Guess it should be harder to make sure there is no excess.

Just put a good coat of oil all over it and let it sit for a day in a pan to get rid of any excess that may drip out. I set mine (Unifoam filter) on an old news paper to soak up the excess, then install it the next day. Most cycle shops sell foam filter oil in a spray can.

Thanks for the ideas. Painter, I really like the idea of the newspaper trick to give a visual. No oil, maybe not enough. Little oil, just right. Soaked, you got a little too happy with the oil.
