    I discovered 2 things today.

    1. There is a foam uni filter in the air box

    2. When it was previously rebuilt, someone threw a 102.5 main jet in the 3rd carb and left the other 3 factory 107s in there. I suspect due to damage on removal.

So seeing as how I’ll probably have to rejet due to the fact that 107s are near impossible to find, might as well get the right ones for this filter.

    Suggestions?

Chacal is gonna get me the hookup on the proper stock jets.

I guess I’ll pony up for the stock paper filter so everything is back to stock and running properly. Or would using stock jets with the UNI work as long as I adjusted the mixture?

I wouldn't be too concerned with the foam as long as it covers the inlet fully and has roughly the same surface area as the plated paper. The thing with foam, though, is that likes to hang onto stuff more than the paper will.

go stock filter, some people here have had issues with there bike ,once they went back to oem style filter issues went away.

I would set it up stock get it running right shims, synced and mixture tuened then swap in the uni foam and see how she runs.

then you can adjust the jets if you want to go that way.

best thing to do with any bike is get it running correctly before doing mods . gives you a base line to work from and judge the value of the mod

    I hear ya.
I didn’t honestly have plans to change anything from stock to begin with. I’m glad I could still find parts
