I have been lucky I guess as most of the fork seals I have replaced have not been too difficult. Today I found one that wanted to be difficult. It did come loose but took a bit of percussion therapy with the dead blow hammer. To get the impact where it needed to be I used a 5/8 spark plug socket with a hex head top installed on several long 3/8 extensions and an impact driver. You know, one of those things that you hit with your hammer and it turns it into rotation. 8mm hex head driver in the damper bolt and resting firmly on the ground, upside down spark plug socket down the fork tube into the top of the damper rod and 2 good hits and it was cooperating without damaging anything.
