I just helped my brother buy a '06 Dyna Wide Glide and his wife and kid were wanting a side car. Not such a good idea due to the extra skinny front tire, but they're out there and I found a used one for only $800 in W/Virginia. We then searched for complete rigs and saw this video of a (new) URAL showing off it's off-road capabilities - -

Reserve is met - now to figure out how to get it from New Jersey, a bit over 1,000 miles away.

I can't view the video here at work but I'm assuming this in the Ural bike with sidecar? Believe it or not TTR, I have a friend who ones one of them. Amazingly simple machine. He was out two years ago and hard a clunking in the bottom end...upon disassembly he found the crankshaft broken in half.....yet the engine continued to run!!!! He loves it and says all he needs to carry is a cresent wrench(ugh), channel locks and a screwdriver along with tie-wire and duct tape and claims he can fix anything with those few things.

I have used a couple of different shipping services and had great experience with both. The best was
    FEDERAL COMPANIES
    WWW.FUNTRANSPORT.COM
    ATTN: Barbara Fugate
    Motorcycle Transport Delivery Services
    Federal Companies
    101 National Road
    East Peoria, IL 61611
_______Toll_ Free_ Phone:_ (800)747-4100_ or_ (309)694-4500_ Ext_ 216

They charged me $600. to pickup a bike in WI and ship it to Annapolis....figure accordingly for different size, weight etc....or give them a call.

I can't figure out if that's an endorsement or an indictment...

Seriously, though; those things are about as tractor-esque as you can get and still call it a motorcycle.

While I'm sure a decent used one in "normal" trim could be had for a lot less, that "Red Army Resto" is about the campiest thing I've seen in a long time, and waaayy cool.

    But then again...

Kettenrad, they are a seriously cool bit of kit, might be a bit harder than a Ural to get a hold of though

Thanks for the shipping info JeffK, but, we now found a few for sale a whole lot closer, and alot newer, for less.

I'm cancelling the bid - the listing was posted from "out of country" and I'm not even sure if the bike is even in New Jersey right now.

Pics of the Dyna soon - -

I am suspecting you own a Kettenkrad for riding during the winter in Michigan or moding your XJ with tank tracks as we speak.

My friends' looks like the 96 Ural refurbished 2 wheel drive (second to the last bike). If you had some question about the location of the bike...the next thing you would have heard would have been "well, I'm being deployed to Afghanistan and the bike is at a warehouse, once you pay me, I'll release the........" You know the deal<LOL>

    Very cool machine!

Did you notice that some of them have conventional forks while some have an "Earles Fork" (leading link suspension with shocks?)

I'd go with a military model with the Earles Fork and 2-wheel drive.

Ya gotta love how on ALL of them, all 3 wheels are interchangeable.

AND both rear wheels are DRIVE wheels!! Those things can go nearly anywhere!!!! They have a shaft that extends to the sidecar wheel with what kinds of looks like a whatchamacallit(brain fart moment) coupling to accomodate the rise and fall of the sidecars suspension......neat setup.

It would take two "U" joints AND a splined sleeve as the sidecar tire is ahead of the rear tire, but 2WD engages off-road only.

Now about that Wide Glide - -
