Afternoon from Australia. Have reassembled 1981 XJ750 Seca. Carbs have been on and off five times now. Have been cleaned and checked by me and also mechanic.
Bike starts first press and idles perfectly.
Trouble starts as soon as I bring the revs up, via (non sticking) throttle. Revs are slow to come down, after a blip, and if I hold revs at 3500 they start to climb on their own. Have sprayed everywhere and can’t find a leak. Have also checked valves. All I can find is that No 4 is running real lean. HELP.

Have you performed a running (vacuum) synch on the engine?
