I am thinking my ongoing problems with RPM's could have to do with a vaccume issue. Problem is I dont know where the vaccume hoses are to check them.

Second thing: I want to tweak my idle screw, but I dont know where it is or how to get to it. Any and all help is as always appreciated.

Re: Vaccume issues (maybe) and idle screw

Your idle screw is under the boots from the air box to the carbs right under and in the middle. Kinda looks like a miniture sprocket. The only vaccume lines so to speak that I know of are the boots that attach to the carbs. To check for vaccume leaks you can use an unlit propane torch and turn it on (still unlit) and run it near your boots that go to the motor. If you have a leak you will notice the idle smooth out. You may have to wiggle the carbs as you do this. Also make sure all the clamps are tight if they are not you could be sucking in air there. Hope that helps!

Do I need to disassemble anything to get to the screw?

should be able to just stick your hand right in there and turn it by hand a little at a time. clockwise turns up the idle and counter turns it down.
