    No need
    If it's tight you need a smaller shim
    And if it's loose a bigger one
    Intake 4-6 thousands
    Exhaust 6-8 thousands
    Metric .11-.16 intake.16-.20 exhaust
    95% of the time a valve clearance is too tight and smaller shim is required
