    Hey Mark

When are you leaving for the rally? Will you be driving past Burlington on 40/85? My plan is to leave sometime Friday morning. If you are passing by, I can ride with your entourage. I am riding the FJR1300 and packing all my camping gear.

    XJ Friends,
If there is still anyone "On the Fence" the Iron Horse has the following still available as of this afternoon:

    One(1) Private Room
One(1) Space Remaining in the bunk house.
Plenty of primitive and electric camp sites.

Personally, the private rooms are exceptional! This is a vacation for the wife and I and we enjoy it a great deal. We've stayed in the "Rocky Top" and "Lone Star" those are Hampton Inn quality hotel rooms!

I'll be taking three(3) bikes this year! Last year one of the guys had motor trouble and missed out on Saturday's fun. I'll lend one of mine to anyone in a similar circumstance this year..... hate to see anyone miss out on the fun.....

Next year, my new XJ650 SECA will be along for the rally!!!!

If you're on the fence... GET OFF THE FENCE.... Get that reservation made!

I REALLY Like that color! Darn good looking machine! I look forward to meeting you at the rally! My wife Nancy will be in charge of the check-in desk with all the goodie bags, t-shirts (if you ordered one), there will be a couple raffles of freebies from our vendor friends including some really great items from Len!!

I'm still trying to decide which bikes I'm driving. Unfortunately, my XJ 550 is a bit too small for riding 2-up so it won't attend. I hope to pick up the SECA on Saturday morning and it's definitely not ready for prime-time. I will likely drive this '81 XS1100 UP to Stecoah:

I'll drive this 1980 XS1100 around the mountains with Nancy..... (Note the rims? It's got some XJ features!)

And I'll get Lazy and drive this Yamaha home on Monday..... I really don't want any of my Vintage Yamaha friends to see me leaving on this on Monday:;)

    Looking forward to meeting you!

Thanks for the welcome... I also look forward to meeting fellow Maxim (& vintage bike) enthusiasts. The color is mid-90's Mustang Hunter Green
Leaning towards leaving Friday and camping. Is there going to be a bike-corral for bikes for sale?

Kurt, what faring is on that first xs? It looks pretty good! Also, I wouldn't feel based about the fj, that's a fine machine, and when you are riding it in a couple of decades, it'll be vintage too!

Kurt's fairing on the gold bike is a Shoei. The fairing on the green bike is from the Yamaha accessory catalog back in the day.

No corral. Just hang a sign on it.

If you have a reservation at the Iron Horse, they will contact you about meals in a couple of days.

I expect a hard time for not riding an ancient Yammer to the rally. Truth be told, I will probably own an ancient Yammer again some day but more likely a smaller XJ. There is a very nice Seca 550 locally but the seller wants $2700. For that kind of scratch, I can get something 20 to 25 years newer with fuel injection; something like a 650 Versys.

Right you are! Really cool old bikes turn up often and for nothing if you're patient. This event is more about bringing like minded people together than the actual bikes. Two years ago we had an attendee do the event in his Miata. Did we give him crap? ....o_O

The event begins this coming Friday. I'll be there to greet you.
