    hey folks,
Anyone out there upgraded their 80's Voltage Reg to a modern one? What do I need to know? I have recently bought a Lithium ion battery and I've heard it's a good idea to upgrade the VR. Where can I get one that will suit?

Super helpful thanks, I went out for the first ride today since installing the battery and everything worked fine.
    Thanks again,
    Rowan.

    +1

There are batteries that are intended to be run on racing machines with a total-loss electrical system (charging is only done by a dedicated plug-in charger). Those will not have a BMS (battery monitoring system/ charging computer) and should not be charged with an alternator.
