WANT TO BUY Windjammer mount '82 XJ750

Hey all....I'm on the lookout for an '82 XJ750 mounting bracket for a Vetter Windjammer (mine is an SS) fairing. I've seen one on ebay ($50...not bad, shipping throws it out of my price range)...but I'm hoping a member has got one he wouldn't mind parting with? Also looking for the external wiring harness, if you've got one. Lastly, would an '82 XS 650 or 750 bracket work?

Don't have the answer to your specific question, but I do have a Windjammer IV mount for a CB750 and it is too narrow for the XJ750 (and presumably the 650) frame. If you can get the top/bottom mount distances (i.e., centers of the curved frame mounts) from ebay sellers and compare to your XJ frame centers you could get one that either fits directly or can be made to fit with a little heat/force.

As far as the wiring harness, you can get OEM plugs directly from Craig Vetter - getting new plugs and making up your own harness would ensure better electrical connections.

Got a guy here in Milwaukee knew/knows Craig Vetter from back in the day...he said pretty much the same thing.
Figured I'd post it up here just in case somebody had one "laying around"...guess I'll wait a couple of months to see if anything pops up...then try to get something fabbed up.

FWIW there's a new Vetter plug kit on ebay right now for 1/2 price.

...I did see a Vetter XJ650 mount auction expire on ebay very recently. Maybe they will repost it.

 

Thanks Zap...actually another member snapped it up, literally hours before I was ready to pull the trigger.

It's all good though...I found a guy local who had a NOS '82 XJ 750 bracket and installation kit...was a little more than I wanted to pay, but it's got everything I need!

Now, I just need to wait for some nice weather so I can get to installing this thing.
