I am looking for a fuel tank for my recently acquired XJ650. My tank has rust in it and even if I clean it out there is a real good chance of it coming back. So anyone got a tank that will fit with little to no mods?

I believe you can put a 750 tank on that. Somebody chime in if I'm wrong...but this is an upgrade, holds more fuel, looks about the same. Also, I think there's a lot of 750's around, I know I didn't have trouble getting a tank for mine.

The tank for a 750 MAXIM is a direct bolt-on, and it give you an extra gallon or so of fuel capacity. It ALSO gives the bike a much nicer profile. There are some 750 maxim tanks that came with a fuel gauge, others did not. Either way, it doesn't matter as your bike doesn't have provision for a gauge. I just wrap the wires up and tie them out of the way. You can do the same, or, there's someone here that figured out a way to install a light and a relay to add their own 'homemade' idiot light..........I mean INDICATOR light..........for the fuel level (basically the same thing that is on the xj700/750/ X/non-X bikes..........)

If you look at the black 650 dresser in my gallery, that has a 750 tank stuffed in there....
