Anyone care to share how they mounted their solo bobber seats with keeping stock/shortened rear shocks?!? Im getting very close to finishing by bobber build but have to figure out how to mount a solo seat and was curious how people got theirs to look clean. I do have the ability to weld so id like to take my time and find a good solution. Thanks all, here's the gist of what im going for....

I'm going to use those u shaped exhaust clamps. One on each spring attached to the frame. With out springs my seat will rub on the tire lol

Mounting my seat was very difficult, as the previous owner had it all botched up. I thought and thought and hemmed and hawed over bolting or welding and in the end, bolted it thru so that it can be changed or modified in the future.

That being said, I don’t have shocks on mine, so it’s a little different. :/

I picked up a u shaped bracket from Lowes for the front and utlitlize the bolt that holds the rear of the tank down on my 85. for the studs for the springs, i drilled two holes and mounted bolts up through the frame. it took a bit of guess work to get the bolt lengths right and i do occasionally bottom on the studs on really big bumps but all in all works for me.

I drilled/bolted mine, too, instead of welding, in case I ever want to change locations or seats or what have ya. Nice!
