Quick question. I have a small split in my frame that I need to stitch up. Other than disconnecting wiring to the CDI box, what do I need to be worried about with regards to welding on the frame? The motor isn't in the frame right now, but will be done soon, and I would like to fix the frame before bolting it back in.

    Thanks Again

I'd pull the TCI and the Voltage Regulator. Then, you can do any type of welding you are going to do.

If you are going to weld a crack in the frame ... Grind-out a V-Cut along the crack to allow the bead to strengthen the frame ... don't just apply some weld to the top of the crack.

That way ... it stays cracked and the weld can't get deep enough into it to insure that the pipe won't continue to crack from its edges.
