    I'm trying to accurately sync my carbs. My '82650j idles at 1050 rpms fine without the EC and with the YICS port unblocked. When I block the port my bike idles down, shuts off and will not start again. What adjustments should I make to the EC and or throttle to keep it running while I sync?

    Thanks,

    Gary

    Since the Idle Adjustment Rod is rather inconveniently located, ... I cheat.

    Undo the Knurl Lock on the Cable Slack Adjuster and use the Adjuster as an IDLE Adjustment while Tuning.

    You won't have to reach into the Furnace and burn your wrist on a hot case.

    ::: Note :::

    This IS Cheating.
    You SHOULD do a Color Tune to get the Bike to IDLE by Pilot Mix adjustment.

    Blocking the YICS off to do your sync will drop the idle; simply turn it up a tad to compensate. The book says to sync at 1050, so you need to bring it back up after deploying the tool.

    How you accomplish that is up to you. I'd just turn the knob.
