What tools do you guys recommend having on hand to work on this thing? My toolbox got stolen, so I figured while I'm replacing everything, I might as well make up a shopping list for motorcycle tools as well.

    Small bottle of Anti Seize
RTV Silicone, color is up to you, but make sure it's rated for the temperature.
Full set of metric wrenches 5mm to 25mm, as many as you can get, really.
A big adjustable wrench for axle nuts and big stuff when you don't want to dig around for the proper wrench to undo.
A pipe wrench for when you realize you don't have a hook wrench to tighten the steering head bearings.
A torque wrench to make everyone else happy.
Metric taps and dies in common sizes.
    A small, cheap multimeter.
A set of small jumper wires with alligator clip ends.
A couple of small ball-pein hammers.
    Scissors.
    Pliers
    Heat shrink assortment.
    Electrical tape.
Some small wire brushes like toothbrushes, except made of brass and steel.
    Your favourite penetrating oil.
Vice Grips of several sizes, including needle-nose style.
A ratchet set of the same assortment of sizes as the wrenches in 1/4" and 3/8" drive.
    A small butane torch.
    A hacksaw.
    Fuses.
    Center and pin punches.
    Small cold chisels
    Metric Allen keys.
Good quality screwdrivers. Don't cheap out on these, it is false economy. I'd recommend a good Picquic multibit screwdriver, in regular length and stubby. The ONLY multibit screwdriver worth a damn.
A set of quality drill bits from companies like Triumph Twist Drill, or Butterfield or Walter.
    Metric feeler gauges.

    Over to you guys...

LOL I thought he was talking about garage tools from the title but was going to ask about onboard tools as well. I don't have the original tool kit(imagine that a 23yr old bike). ANy essentials beyond the norm a guy should have on board?

Actually, I'm interested in what to keep on hand for both garage and on the bike. I don't have my toolkit or MOM.
