I've look all over, did a billion searches and I have no clue what Seca is or stands for. Besides being a sportier model of the bikes what does it mean or where does it come from?

My recollection is that the bike is named after the Laguna Seca raceway. The name means dry lagoon. The track is built on a dry lake.

So is there something about the bikes that relates to dry that I don't know of? Since Seca is Dry in Spanish?

"Seco" or "seca" are two Spanish words for "dry". In Spanish, as well as in French, things, animals and people are either of the masculine or the feminine gender. A lagoon might be of feminine gender in Spanish.

"The Universal Japanese Motorcycle was in its heyday, an air-cooled in-line four being the main powerplant for all four Japanese companies. And one to hit the mark was this Yamaha Seca 650—the Seca name borrowed from the Laguna Seca (“Dry Lake”) raceway in California without so much as a by your leave, with the obvious intention of promoting a racy image."

Some folks associate "Seca" as short for Laguna Seca.
Laguna Seca is a Race Track. Legendary.
Built to challenge Sport Cars and Motorcycles; "Seca" has one of Motorsports most challenging turns.

Turn 8 sweeping-down into 8A is nicknamed: "Cork Screw".
The Turn is at the end of a near-straight grade running into it.
Cork Screw sweeps tightly around to the right at what looks like a mound that's a knee-dragger.

8A begins its uphill-left right out of 8.
Around the mound, ... it's blind going into 8A.

    Wiki --
"Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca (previously known as Laguna Seca Raceway) is a paved road racing track in central California used for both auto racing and motorcycle racing, originally constructed in 1957 near both Salinas and Monterey, California, USA.

The current racetrack is 2.238 miles (3.602 km) in length with a 180 feet (55 m) elevation change.[1][2] It has eleven turns, including the famous "Corkscrew" at Turns 8 and 8A. A variety of racing, exhibition and entertainment events are held at the raceway, ranging from superkarts to sports car racing to music festivals.

The name Laguna Seca is Spanish for "dry lagoon". The area where the track is was originally a lake. The course was originally built around the lake, which has since dried up entirely. An artificial pond has since been added." *

Nope. The bike was named for the racetrack, not the underlying definition of the word.
