Guys I need some help finding the size of the bolt that holds the fuel tank on a 81 XJ650. Mine was stolen over the along with all of my tools. I had the tank off getting repaired. This my first bike in 34 years and want go get it running so I can get out and enjoy myself. Thanks Gregg

I don't know on the xj650 however if you have an owners/service manual in most cases the specs should be listed in there.

    Huh?

Its either 10mm or 12mm by 12 or 16 mm in length. If you have access to a generic hardware store like Ace Hardware or even Menards, they should have drawers and drawers of nuts, bolts, and washers. Twenty & some cents later, and you'll have a bolt that holds the fuel tank.
