    Hi Folks,

I did a forum search on this but it was inconclusive.
    I have an '82 750 Seca RH.

For the tires, the Manual says:
    Front 3.25H19-4PR
    Rear 120/90-18

On my bike I have Metzlers:
    Front 3.5H19
    Rear 4.25/85 V18

I'm guessing my bike has a front that is .25" wider than spec'd out by the manual but if I multiply the rear 4.25 by 25.4 mm/in I only get 108mm vs the 120 in the manual. Or am I doing this wrong?

I have Metzlers now but my racing days are pretty much over. I really want something in between sport and touring...

What is the forum's generally accepted sizes for this bike, front and rear?
    Any brand recommendations?

    Thanks Much!
    George

The stock tire sizes are a bit confusing because the front is specified in SAE units and the rear in metric.

On the front you want a 3.25H19, which isn't available as a size in most tires. The metric substitution is a 100/90 19.

    Rear 120/90 18

You're right about the front being slightly larger than spec.
    4.25 = 120/80 or /90 -- so that could be just fine.

For best handling and reliability, go with what the manual says:
    Front:
    3.25/3.50 19 = 100/90 19
    Rear:
    4.50/4.75 18 = 120/90 18

You had to ask that didn't you!...

I'm using Dynabeads. This is the second bike I put them on. They work well.

When I finally get around to getting new tires, I'm going to attempt the mounting and balancing myself. I'll be using the dynabeads rpgoerlich recommends, i've checked out the site and they look simple and effective.

Personally I say give it a shot mounting them yourself (be careful obviously, don't damage your rims!) and if you cant get it, THEN fork out the cash to have it done. Theres alot of greenbacks to be saved doing it yourself!

First, I dont trust anyone touching my bike. Some greasemonkeys are about as careful as a destructive toddler.

I pay ~$15 each to have the tires balanced and mounted to the wheel.

50 bucks better include removal and reinstallation if the wheels too.
    If not, keep looking around

Inno, do youself a favor and add you bikes info in your signature

thats what my local shop wants too.

i'd rather do it myself and know it's done right.
i just had no way of balaning before i heard of the dynabeads
