Pipes are in good shape overall, very, very minor rust spots. Just wondering the best method to clean them up without damaging them.

Or just water and aluminum foil if you don't want black spots. The rust spots are from pinholes in the chrome, so the rust will return. Just repeat the process when it does.

I use #0000 steel wool (bronze wool when I can find it) and a good cleaner/rust remover/polish like Suzuki SP5B, Honda SHINE, Yamaha cleaner/polish, S100, etc..... I even used kroil, and pbBlaster----

Light elbow grease, so you don't scratch, til clean then keep polished and waxed

I never knew about the aluminum foil trick. Looks interesting. Brass wool or aluminum foil won't scratch the pipes?

aluminum foil wont scratch the chrome, I would assume that brass wool or steel wool, or wire brushes would scratch it up.

Chromium plating is very hard (physical hardness). Aluminum and brass are soft metals. Extra-fine steel wool is a tool used for polishing other metals, including chromuim plating.

Well.... With 7 trophies on the shelf, I think things clean pretty well with the #0000 steel wool----
