Are you looking at the engine side covers for the "X" model Maxim??
They look different than regular old XJ covers.

You would get them, one at a time, from the USA E-Bay if the "X" was not sold in England/Europe.
You would pay thru the nose.

The "X" style spoked-pattern cover would be something you would need to track down on eBay.

The guy with the snowflake (or whatever, hard to tell from the pic) etched into his alternator cover most likely had it done by a machinist or engraver, or has "appliqued" a fancy bit onto his cover.

I was actually considering getting someplace to cut a tuning fork emblem into one of my spare alternator covers, and then I'd fill it with black or red, depending on the bike it ends up on.

sadly that wasnt etched .. I can tell you that much because they are very common on the vmax bikes...

I have seen them on several bikes now along with chrome plates instead etc... and even see through windows... so there must be some company out there making them... just gotta hunt it down and waaaa la.
