I am completely new in the motorcycles word and I have a 1982 Yamaha xj550 Maxim with no working turn signal lights. I think the turn signal flasher is bad, but I can't find it. Can somebody give me advice to solve this problem? Thanks in advance.

    Flasher has three inputs.
Most of your relays have a rectangular plug, this one is odd shaped to fit the three plugs.

Do check all your connections with a multimeter, as I would have thought a bad relay would prevent the signals from flashing, leaving them permanently on or flashing too fast.

If you can prove that you get the right connectivity all the way down to the flasher unit...

Also be aware there is an automatic cancelling unit which is also odd shaped, its the only other relay that is a different shape: long and rectangular.

Mouseover the relays on this wiring diagram to se if you can just remove them to bypass

    Anyway, I replaced mine with a CF13 JL-02.

It's under the tank - tucked up behind the horn...
