    Hi guys

Looks like I have finally fixed my oil leaking situation, I have fitted new o rings that are slightly oversized by 0.5mm and it made a world of tightness and difference I then realized that the bolt holding the cooler housing and the spin on the filter are two separate bolts.

    1. Fit O ring of 80.5 x 4.5mm to the oil cooler housing.
    2. Give the mating surfaces light sand with 1000 grit paper.
    3. Tighten the housing with the first part of the bolt ( 27mm) & Torque it to 35NM
    4. Repeat step 2 for the spin on filter adapter mating surface.
    5. Repeat step 1. for the spin on filter adapter.
    6. Repeat step 3.
    7. Attach the spin on filter. (GUD Z282 Part no.)

I hope this helps, the smaller diameter O-ring and larger width made the seal hold a lot better than the stock 85x4mm

Time, patience, and neatness are important to get these old parts working again.

BTW if you ever want your XJ750 to be reliable I would recommend upgrading to fuel injection but I will post that on a different thread.

Can the 900f be converted to fuel injection?

Yes it can, most engine management systems are compatible with old engines.

Do you have any more information on this thanks? It will need a different electronic unit for injection timing and opening duration I expect, and parts such as throttle bodies, MAP sensors, throttle potentiometers.
