I have a bunch of clutch questions. So long story short the clutch is slipping in almost all gears at high rpm (doesnt slip in 1st or second) Anyway main question is where to get a clutch kit. I found a kit on ebay that has just the friction plates for a good deal. But here come my next question. I am worried about the other plates (ones without friction material) I feel like I should get them as well as the clutch has been slipping for some time now. My brother says I should just take it all apart and examine and order only If I need, but I would pefer to do everything at once for fear that I wont be able to put humpty dumpty back together more than a week later after odering more parts.

Next question is about springs. It has been brought to my attention that I should replace spings as well. Where do I get these from? How many are there? What is their specific name?

Next question is ease of the job I have had many people say that it is easy and I am pretty mechanically inclined; have done lots of maintenace and repairs on vehicles. Someone had made mention of a basket holding tool....what is that? should I get one or tough it out? also where would I get one. I am under the impression that you put everything in just how it came out. sounds strait forward. Is there anything I should look out for?

PLEASE READ btw I have already adjusted the clutch. I know of bikebandit.com. I was looking for something that might come as a kit as other kits I have seen for bikes that have all plates both fiction and others and springs in one box. it seems that bikebandit only sells part by part and gets expensive fast.

If someone could make a list of all recomended parts to replace while doing a thorough clutch job I would appreciate it.

sorry for long post. I tried reading though past posts, but it got old fast. noone had exactly what I was looking for

once again thanks in advance for your responses. you guys are oh so helpful

If I had that bike I'd get the whole Rebuild Kit from Barnett.

Comes with everything you need including the Springs and Fasteners.

Your brother gave you good advice.
You can Pop the Side Cover and examine the Clutches and find-out that all you need is New Friction Plates.

If the slipping is new and you haven't burned the Drive Plates ... all you really may need is a new set of Friction Plates.

If you are going to ride that bike hard and do a track day of any other kind of fun stuff of a competitive nature (legal or otherwise) ... do the whole Kit and treat yourself to a whole clutch that can stand-up to the hard riding.
