I've owned the above cycle for 10 years but it had only one side of the front brake that was connected. I decided to get both sides working, so bought a longer bolt, with 2 holes, to connect both brake lines together, but when I went to bleed it and get pressure on hand brake, it would not do it--1/2 a quart of fluid. So I figured I needed a master cyl. rebuild kit, so ordered one off ebay. Nothing on that kit fit my plunger that goes inside the master, and I contacted the supplier and they ask me if my master is "stock"--I suppose meaning did it come with the original bike, for they say they sent the right kit. I bought this bike used, so I don't know. So I'm asking you guys who have original "stock" if you can look under the master and tell me what it says--on mine, it says "nissin 6h5". I live 100 miles from Phoenix so it is hard for me to go a junkyard there to find this out. Thank you.

XJ650 non-North American (dual disc) models, XJ650RJ Seca, all XJ700, XJ750-X, XJ750RL, and XJ900RK and RL models: the cylinder body will have the word NISSIN cast into it along the larger rear facing side of the cylinder body, and have the size 5/8 cast into the forward face of the cylinder body just to the left of the fluid outlet port (where the brake line attaches).

The 6h5 number is probably a manufacturing date code, not a part number, and does not help in identifying your master cylinder.

If you could post a picture that would be most helpful.

It looks just like the one on my 85 XJ700N. Got my parts from Chacal and everything fit perfectly.
