I am sure there is a simple answer to this.

I would like to know why my turn signals turn off. I am sure they are supposed to but what triggers them? Is is how many times you shift? A certain RPM? An tilt in the bike?

I have tried to repeat what has worked ( or so I think ) but never the same thing. Could be freak of nature, I do not know.

I do not, and dont know if I would, trust them all the time to turn off anyway. I just want to know.

    Thanks!

On my baby Seca (400), they go off after traveling a certain distance (400 feet, I think).

Not sure how if that's the universal Yammie method or not...

According to the Haynes manual it is distance or time depending on speed that turns off the signals. 164 yards at slow speeds 10 seconds at higher speeds.

    lucky prick J/K!!!

Yup ther is a auto cancel system on our bikes I have heard anywhere from 150'- 300' in distance to turn them off and that thier is a timer as well don't know which or if both are correct but just be glad that yours are working.
many of us try to get them to turn off automatically and get frustrated at the auto cancel unit for not working. Mine works when it feels the need then other times it doesn't work at all.
